LiDAR Inspection Services
Aerial LiDAR survey and inspection provide unsurpassed site detail. Dense point clouds are produced and refined to create 3D topographical maps and highly accurate surveys of surface terrain and structures for use in planning, design and construction. In addition, LiDAR provides multiple signal returns, which allows vision below vegetation, to see ground details. Applications such as boundary line calculations and measuring contours is substantially more time and cost efficient when utilizing aerial LiDAR equipment. Utilizing aerial LiDAR for applications such as collection of boundary line and contour data will result in substantial time and cost savings. Aescit also offers integration of aerial and terrestrial scanners, which can greatly expedite data collection tasks at large and challenging sites.
Aerial Pipeline Inspection
Pipeline inspection via UAV can provide valuable site imagery and intelligence regarding methane leaks, right of way status, pipeline health, including hot spots, insulation damage and blockages. Various sensors can be employed in this type of inspection, including a high zoom visual camera, laser methane detection, LiDAR and an infrared sensor. Many of these sensors can be combined for use in a single inspection, yielding multiple data sets from a single pass of the pipeline and right of ways. These tools provide unmatched accuracy, efficiency and safety, as well as providing important as-build, state of good repair and post-repair data.
Aerial Traffic Study
UAV’s currently play a vital role in the measurement and monitoring of traffic patterns on roadways and through neighborhoods. Traffic flow, timing of traffic signals, traffic patterns and lane weave patterns at freeway on-ramps, can most effectively be monitored from the air via a tethered drone or pre-planned drone flight. This technology provides great support for Smart City implementations, traffic impact studies and and to assist in the creation of traffic mitigations.
Electrical Power & Clean Energy
Monitoring electrical equipment via aerial inspection with visual cameras and infrared sensors provides immediate intelligence regarding failures and defects, such as overheated connectors or corona discharge. In addition, these tools can also be utilized effectively to collect data regarding the functionality, efficiency and to monitor defects in solar panels and at solar farms. These inspection techniques provide efficient, actionable data, while optimizing safety for technicians.
